About Kickstart School and the role

Would you like to be part of our international team of 6 staff who manage one of the highest ranked language schools in The Netherlands?  Kickstart School was founded in 2001 and is located in central The Hague. In addition to our F2F language courses we also teach students online all over the world. The main languages we teach are Dutch and English but we also have a small Chinese department.

We are looking for a reliable administrator/receptionist to join our busy international office team in the evenings. Are you good at prioritizing and do you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love admin tasks, and enjoy helping others with technical questions?

Tasks

  • Helping teachers/students with technical issues, printing or any other assistance they require
  • General admin work
    • Communicating with customers via telephone and email
    • Processing registrations
  • Providing technical assistance with IT issues and Zoom classes
  • Uploading courses to our learning management system
  • Keeping stock of office supplies and learning materials
  • Participation in fairs (when needed)

Skills

  • Proficiency in English with a basic knowledge of Dutch
  • Experience as an Office Administrator 
  • Good communication, organizational, people and administrative skills
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Office suite and videoconferencing tools like Zoom. Knowledge of using ERP software like Odoo
  • Affinity with working in service industry/education/languages/international working environment

Practical aspects

  • Based in the The Hague area, the position is in-person at the office at Koninginnegracht 62. The job is for 12-16 hours per week. In principle Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
  • You will work in a modern open office with up to 8 teachers and 50 students in the school on the busiest nights providing support as the single person in the administration. On other nights or during school holidays there might be very few teachers and students.
