Are you keen to improve your Dutch conversation skills?
We strongly encourage you to check out our brand new upper-intermediate Dutch conversation course. This freshly developed course can be taken before, after, or alongside our Advanced A, B, or C.
What does the course focus on?
- Listening skills: practised at home, as preparation for the next lesson.
- Speaking skills: improved in a group setting, during face-to-face lessons.
Every lesson consists of a mix of varied exercises with extra attention paid to advanced aspects of grammar, fixed phrases, and idioms. Interesting and up-to-date topics including current affairs and aspects of the modern Dutch society will stimulate discussion, keeping you active and engaged. We will also teach you the language of informal, daily life conversations.
This conversation course is all about speaking and communication. We use a variety of prompts and materials to help you get going:
- the course book Koffiepraatjes;
- multiple extra materials distributed by the teacher;
- supplementary exercises on our online learning platform KickstartNet.
What will you do in the classroom?
- discuss the preparatory material read/watched at home;
- give presentations + ask and answer questions about them;
- discuss news topics;
- practise informal conversations and small talk in Dutch;
- refine your grammar;
- read poems and stories, listen to songs;
- get to know and practise using new fixed phrases, idioms, sayings, useful expressions.
The conversation course is currently offered only in the face-to-face format.
Please be aware that in the face-to-face courses there is no option of joining remotely. If you have to miss the class due to sickness or other reasons, you can catch up in self-study or we can offer you a
catch-up lesson
at a reduced price.
