Pre-Intermediate English Course

Do you want to take your beginner’s English to the next level?

Kickstart School’s Pre-Intermediate English course in the centre of The Hague will help you get results, fast. Our communicative approach followed throughout the course incorporates a lot of conversation, so that emphasis is placed on your ability to put your language skills into practice.

The course is offered in a face-to-face format and divided into 4 parts, 22.5 hours each, which can be taken in any order. Our planned schedule is for 4 blocks to run from September to February and 4 blocks from February to July, but this will be adjusted each year. Most of the grammatical topics will be revised in the Intermediate course. The full duration of the course on the pre-intermediate level is 90 hours of tuition. In these 90 hours, we aim to finish the whole course book, but we will make sure to tailor the course to the individual student group. If the student level is high enough, they will be recommended to switch to the Intermediate level.

You are encouraged to speak as much as possible through enjoyable activities using authentic materials such as news items, magazine articles, films and songs for discussions, debates, presentations, and role plays. These activities reinforce key grammatical structures and broaden your vocabulary. Additionally, you are assigned a book to read which is discussed in class, allowing you to further develop your grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and spoken communication.
