Would you like your child to become more comfortable hearing and using Dutch in a playful environment?


Your child may be ready for this level if:

  • They are around 5-6 years old and are new to Dutch, or only know a few Dutch words.
  • They cannot read yet in their own language.
  • They are ready to hear Dutch in class with lots of support from pictures, gestures, songs, repetition, and body language.
  • They enjoy learning through play, movement, stories, drawing, crafts, and games.

During this course, your child will work towards:

  • Becoming comfortable in a classroom where Dutch is the main language used, and starting to understand classroom instructions and use simple greetings and classroom words.
  • Learning to say simple things about themselves, such as their name, age, family, favorite things, and how they feel.
  • Building a basic Dutch vocabulary through themes such as family, colors, counting, seasons, weather, animals, home, celebrations, food, and everyday life, while practising by naming objects and answering easy questions.
  • Listening to Dutch songs and short clips to help introduce and practise new vocabulary.
  • Becoming familiar with Dutch sounds, letters, and words through playful listening, repeating, matching, and movement activities.
  • Listening to around 8-10 simple Dutch texts based on the themes across the 3 terms, mainly through interactive teacher read-alouds.
  • Learning through a mix of games, drawing, crafts, and playful speaking activities.

Or a percentage of this for the remaining lessons until the end of term.

Of course, we hope that you and the children are happy with the lessons. However, if it does not work out, it is still possible to opt out after 3 sessions. In that case, you can get a refund of the remaining course fee minus a 15 Euro administration fee.

It may also happen that we will advise you to follow a different trajectory with your child; if that’s not possible for any reason, you will receive a refund accordingly.

Late enrollments are also accepted.

Children can be dropped off and picked up from the school. However, it is also possible for the parent(s)/caregiver(s) to wait in a separate room at Kickstart, while children enjoy the Kickstart Dutch Literacy Club.
